A Vintage Inspired Wedding at The Creek Club at I'ON

Anna-Kate and Seyni found me last year; one of my very first weddings I booked! Their big day finally came around this year on February11, 2022. I was beyond excited to finally meet them!

Anna-Kate is one of the kindest and most loving people I've ever met. She had a dream of what she wanted her wedding day to look like, and she got just that thanks to Char and her incredible team at Whatley Wedding Design. She included dark purples and reds in her florals with pops of greenery. "Wine berry" as her amazing florist Sweetleaf Floral calls it. Her hair, dress, and decor were all inspired by the 50's and 60's time periods. Seyni is also one of the kindest people I've ever met, which is why they're such a perfect match. Seyni's smile is so contagious. It's literally impossible to look at him while he's smiling and not smile back.

Their day started off with Anna-Kate and her girls getting ready at her beautiful home, which was also a mix of modern and vintage vibes. It was the perfect location! Seyni and his groomsmen started the day off at the Francis Marion Hotel in downtown Charleston getting ready, exchanging gifts, and whiskey of course.

Anna-Kate and Seyni said "I do" at St. John Catholic Church and carried on the celebrations to the Creek Club at I'ON, one of my favorite venues! We snuck away to capture some amazing sunset portrait shots. This particular evening's sunset was like no other. It perfectly shone its way through the trees and right onto the newlyweds. I love playing with natural light while filming in situations like this. Light leaks are one of my favorite things, and this portrait session had all the light leaks I could dream of!

Anna-Kate's brother and best friend, and Seyni's best man all gave speeches. Some of the most amazing speeches I've ever witnessed. They were funny, heartfelt, and just so so good! Sometimes I forget I have audio rolling and I'm like dying laughing behind the camera...whoops! Then, guests made their way to the dance floor and partied all night. Anna-Kate and Seyni were sent off by their closest family and friends, with an elegant dress change by Anna-Kate!

I could not have imagined a better day to kick off my 2022 weddings! It was such an honor to document their day! Congratulations to the N'daw's!

Check out Anna-Kate and Seyni's wedding film below. You'll see how I played with their vintage wedding day vibes in their film as well!
